Writing for an electronic magazine involves a few style shifts that you can easily incorporate into your articles.
Here are a few suggestions:
- Paragraphs need to be brief, no more than three sentences.
- Use "headers" to break up copy every few paragraphs.
- Be creative! Offer up hyperlink ideas to outside market research or resources that directly relate to your article.
- Use bullets and or lists, if possible, as these have greater visual appeal in an e-format.
- Provide the SFO editorial team with video or audio links that relate to your topic.
- Provide charts that illustrate concepts discussed in your article.
- Create a glossary of terms used in your article, to be used as a sidebar or an exclusive online bonus.
- Send links to webinars you have hosted on related topics.
- Share cool photos of related themes within your story.
- Write short sidebars of 200-400 words that cover related issues to your topic but do not need to be in the main article.
