FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SFO Magazine Transforms to an All-digital Format
Stocks, Futures and Options magazine, the Official Advocate for Personal Investing, now in multimedia format
Cedar Falls, Iowa, Feb. 2, 2010—To coordinate with how individuals research markets and place trades, SFO magazine will become a paperless, multimedia publication beginning with the March 2010 edition, available March 1. The electronic medium delivers an enhanced trader education experience.
The entirely digital magazine will showcase embedded audio and video files, interactive functionality, and the ability to download articles and share content easily.
“This is the next logical step for publishing, and it addresses the current and evolving needs of market participants and investors worldwide,” says Russell R. Wasendorf Sr., creator and publisher of SFO. “Our conversion to complete digitalization will add value to readers who are conditioned to technologies well beyond what a print publication can offer. Of course, it is also a far better environmental solution.”
SFO executive editor Heather Larson-Blakestad says, “Our readers use computers every day to execute their trades and receive breaking news via e-mail and newsfeeds. Because of this, they are ready for the next development in magazines. And SFO is at the forefront of this change.”
The new electronic format delivers more than a magazine to SFO readers. Just a few of the upgrades are:
• Links to related topics and embedded audio and video files.
• Zoom capability for better chart viewing and larger type-face for comfortable digital reading.
• Instant access from Internet-connected computers.
• Use of an environmentally friendly medium.
• Sharing of articles with colleagues, friends and family with a simple click of the mouse.
• Full issues can be downloaded as PDFs, and individual articles may be printed directly from the interactive toolbar.
“I am excited about the many new ways SFO can help traders hone their craft,” Larson-Blakestad says. “Our readers will find the ability to further investigate a topic by immediately linking to past SFO articles and reputable outside materials invaluable in their educational process.”
A STANDOUT
A key benefit of the e-magazine format is its ability to combine multiple forms of mass communication—text, audio, video, Internet—into one package that is delivered directly to subscribers’ e-mail inboxes each month.
And the electronic magazine is not just a boring scroll of text as one typically finds on websites. The award-winning design of the print magazine continues in the digital format. Readers still open the magazine to find enticing imagery and reader-friendly layouts to enhance their experience.
Readers can learn more about the all-digital SFO on its website, SFOmag.com, Feb. 8. There they can try a demo of the e-magazine to see for themselves the benefits of the new, fully loaded SFO.
